About the role: This position is responsible for maintaining 24x7x365 networking environments. The Network Engineer - Associate operates the networks within the Premise Health environment. Provisions network components per organization’s standards. Monitors daily operations of networks and associated devices for availability and performance. Maintains operational documentation. Responds to network alerts, investigates and recovers hardware and circuit failures. Is responsible for the identification and resolution of service-level problems and the identification and support of mission-critical tasks. Has communication with technical support groups, customer support centers, and vendors.


Essential Functions:  

  • Assists in the provisioning small to medium network implementations.  
  • Participates on project teams with small network engineering outcomes.  
  • Troubleshoots and resolves network problems.  
  • Performs network maintenance and system upgrades.  
  • Is accountable for the following activities: support, problem resolution tracking, and software upgrades and installation.  
  • Maintains network documentation.  
  • Coordinates and executes network engineering tasks as assigned.  


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience  
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in Network Engineer role.  
  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on network engineer, specifically Cisco and Fortinet.  
  • 2 to 3 years operating small to medium enterprise networks.

  • Active listening skills are required.Core Platform Specific Requirements:  
  • 1 to 2 years of hands-on network engineer, specifically Cisco and Fortinet.  
  • Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Nexus line, 1000v and ASA.  
  • Knowledge of Cisco and Meraki branch network hardware.  
  • 2 to 3 years operating small to medium enterprise networks.  
  • Understanding of internal routing protocols.  
  • Strong knowledge of IP and Ethernet.  
  • Basic knowledge of WAN and MAN technologies.  
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols and functions; HSRP, 802.11, VPN, GRE, NAT, SNMP, and others.  
  • Understanding of DNS and DHCP.  
  • Knowledge of Category 5/6/7 copper cabling.  
  • Solid understanding of the OSI model.

For individuals living in California, Colorado, Washington; as well as, for individuals living in or reporting to New York State only, Premise Health is required to  include an estimate of the salary and benefits for this role. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated California, Colorado, Washington, and New York compensation is $64,000 - $74,500. Please note, this is a general guideline and your experience qualifications, geographic location, and other factors will be taken into consideration.
