The Communications Coordinator supports internal and external communication efforts by executing projects, managing administrative tasks, and contributing to day-to-day operations. This role works closely with communications team members to help deliver strategic initiatives and maintain organized workflows. The position is ideal for an early-career professional looking to build foundational skills in corporate communications, including content development and project management. Success in this role requires strong organization, initiative, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks and learn quickly.
This is a full time, hybrid Communications Coordinator role located in Brentwood, TN reporting in office Tuesday and Wednesday.
What You'll Do
•Assist in the development and execution of internal and external communications plans
•Draft, edit, and proofread communications, including emails, newsletters, intranet content, video scripts, and press materials
•Help maintain and update communications calendars
•Coordinate communications projects from planning through execution
•Track deadlines, deliverables, and approvals across multiple initiatives
•Provide day-to-day administrative support to the communications team, including uploading communications to email marketing platform and press releases to distribution platform
•Manage distribution lists, meeting scheduling, and logistics for communications activities
•Assist with event planning and execution (internal meetings, town halls, press events)
•Conduct research on reporters and trends for media outreach that help tell the Premise story
•Organize and maintain media lists
•Conduct research on company award opportunities and earned speaking engagements
•Write summaries of press to appear on the Premise website (news site)
•Monitor news stories on a daily basis, sharing relevant news with the team and senior stakeholders
•Monitor communications performance and compile basic reports
•Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and content
•Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in learning both internal and external communications disciplines
What You'll Bring
•Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience
•0–2 years of experience (internships and relevant coursework included)
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
•Possess a knack for proofreading
•Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
•Ability to identify problems, research, collect data, establish facts, and provide solutions
•Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving mindset
•Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with communications tools is a plus
