About the role: The Operational Effectiveness Manager will oversee the operational effectiveness department, serve as the subject matter expert for performance guarantees, and develop senior and junior team members. This position is responsible for working with cross functional senior leadership to coordinate the development, enhancement, and execution of complex, high profile projects, reporting, and data visualization tools. The position will also serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for performance guarantees, ensuring standards and policies are adhered to, while providing Operational leadership guidance during the performance guarantee negotiations. As the SME, the position will be responsible for providing client facing support to Operations during contract negotiations. The position will also be responsible for performing business process analysis documenting business requirements as well as current state and future state business processes to improve existing systems and operational processes.


Essential Functions:

  • Provides leadership and management to the department’s team of analysts, focusing on employee development for future advancement within the organization.
  • Interacts with and develops working relationships with leadership throughout the organization to provide consultation and gap analyses ensuring optimal operational effectiveness.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for the organization on performance guarantees (PG).
  • Oversees the organizations PG policy and procedure ensuring compliance.
  • Actively works to reduce overall organizational risk associated with PGs. 
  • Supports organizational growth, goals, and sales opportunities through the facilitation of the performance guarantee process and/or other operational requested analyses or support. 
  • Owns the standard PG list, ensuring metrics are reviewed and updated throughout the year to align with organizational and clinical standards.
  • Provides client facing support to Operations during contract negotiations, RFPs/RFIs, and standalone PG negotiations.
  • Provides guidance and oversight related to PG reporting and tracking.
  • Works closely with stakeholders on high profile projects to develop a deep understanding of their workflows to provide analysis and recommendations to project teams for utilization in strategic project planning.
  • Responsible for managing multiple key organizational projects including the development, implementation, training, and support for assigned projects.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience managing an analytics team in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience designing, implementing, training, and testing processes which involve numerous stages, and stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and presenting analyses to senior and executive level leadership.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
  • Experience working in a virtual environment preferred


Preferred Experience:

  • High level of leadership skills with a focus on team member development. 
  • Must be proficient in hands-on business analysis.
  • Must possess expert level problem solving skills, communication skills (both written and verbal), presentation skills, and a strong concentration in functional analysis. 
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using VLOOKUP function, IF logic, printing centered page and/or creating a pivot table).
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: changing picture styles, customizing animation and/or setting automatic slide timings).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, demonstrated analytical abilities, and the ability to work both independently and within teams.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with excellent presentation skills, confident in all settings with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
  • Ability to choose the right communication channel depending on the problem to be solved.
