Primary responsibilities will consist of helping people to move more and sit less by interacting with fitness center members virtually, in one-on-one appointments and in group class settings, developing and deploying motivational and outreach programming, delivering fitness assessments and prescribing exercise programs, leading 3+ virtual group exercise classes a week. This role will also include management responsibilities for one or more component of the program such as virtual portal, group exercise, personal training, , part-time staffing, industrial athlete, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Guide, motivate, and provide tools to participants so they may increase physical activity and create lasting behavioral change.
- Conduct fitness assessments in accordance with company policy and workflows.
- Develop one-on-one exercise prescriptions based on fitness assessment, health and fitness history and participant goals.
- Conduct ongoing virtual coaching sessions with participants.
- Provide a memorable experience and excellent customer service to our participants and client partners.
- Provide exercise leadership expertise according to the latest American College of Sports Medicine, Exercise Testing and Prescription guidelines.
- Perform basic fitness center administrative duties such as working with and reporting from the membership database system, monitoring member retention program, management of virtual participation data, etc.
- Teach multiple virtual group exercise classes each week.
- Assist in collecting data and generating reports on fitness center and program metrics.
- Aid in the onboarding of new fitness center team members.
- Responsible for strategy and direction of a major component of the fitness center, which could include coordination of group exercise program and schedule, managing personal training or the management of the virtual platform or etc.
- Assist the Assistant and Fitness Manager virtually with the development, execution, and implementation of outcomes-based programs and member engagement strategies.
- May require other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a closely related field is required
- Personal Training certification from nationally recognized, accredited organization (e.g. ACSM, NASM, NSCA etc.) required within 6 months of hire
- Current certification in CPR/AED (hands on program required) and First Aid required
- Group Exercise Primary certification from nationally recognized organization (e.g. AFFA, ACE, IDEA) is preferred
- Advanced fitness certification(s) (FMS, Exercise is Medicine, Corrective Specialist, etc.) preferred.
Experience:
- 2-3 years corporate fitness experience
- Experience in exercise prescription, virtual coaching and ability to perform virtual fitness assessments
