As a PRN Physician Assistant, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Princeton, IN. We are seeking a provider who is willing to work evening/night shifts, with shifts typically beginning at 2:30 PM or 6:00 PM. Flexibility and availability for these later start times are essential for this role.
What You’ll Do
- Injury and illness care, physical exams, urgent care for employees sick at work, emergency care and preventive health measures per guidelines and approved agreements.
- Perform fitness-for-duty exams and return-to-work exams.
- Provide medically appropriate care to injured workers using evidence-based guidelines, expedites the return to meaningful work, and collaborates with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
- Implement and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
- Perform procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, ... etc.).
- Develop patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, growth and development.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
- Collaborate with the medical director and client stakeholders on Health Promotion programs, surveillance needs, ergonomics, process development, and other related safety/injury prevention opportunities.
- Prescribe or recommends treatments, including medications and therapies.
- Refer patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
- Maintain patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrates knowledge and competence in occupational health, including primary care orthopedics and musculoskeletal medicine, chemical/biological hazards, ergonomics, psychophysiological (stress), safety and industrial issues, OSHA standards and regulations, and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
- Knowledge of strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, performs preplacement exams, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
- Training skills a plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and work-flow management skills preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
- Ability to communicate clear and simple work recommendations to patients and clients.
